IPL 2023: Actor Ananya Panday showed her support for the team by posting a picture on her social media stories and using raising hand emojis.
On Sunday, Suhana Khan, daughter of actor Shah Rukh Khan, praised cricketer Rinku Singh for his remarkable achievement of hitting five consecutive sixes in the final over of Kolkata Knight Riders’ exciting IPL 2023 match against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
In a post on her Instagram story, Suhana shared a photo and simply wrote “Unreal” in response to Singh’s performance.
Ananya Panday also expressed her excitement for the match by sharing a photo on her social media story, accompanied by raising hand emojis. During the game, Gujarat Titans elected to bat first and set a target of 204/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Vijay Shankar scored an impressive 63 off 24 balls, including four boundaries and five sixes, while Sai Sudharshan notched up his second half-century in IPL 2023 with a score of 53 off 38 balls, comprising three fours and two sixes. Shubman Gill also contributed 39 runs off 31 balls with five fours.
KKR’s Sunil Narine took three wickets for 33 runs in four overs, with Suyash Sharma continuing his form after a three-wicket haul against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the previous match, taking one wicket for 35 runs in his four overs.
During the chase, KKR was struggling at 28/2, but captain Nitish Rana (45 off 29 balls with four boundaries and three sixes) and Venkatesh Iyer (83 off 40 balls with eight fours and five sixes) put on a crucial partnership of 100 runs for the third wicket. However, their dismissals and Rashid Khan’s hat-trick left KKR in trouble at 155/7. With 29 runs needed in the final over, Rinku Singh played a crucial role by hitting five consecutive sixes to seal a remarkable win for KKR. Singh remained unbeaten on 48 runs off 21 balls, including one four and six sixes.
For GT, Rashid Khan took three wickets for 37 runs, while Alzarri Joseph claimed two wickets and Joshua Little and Mohammed Shami took a wicket each.
Rinku Singh was honored with the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his incredible match-winning performance. Following this victory, Kolkata Knight Riders have moved up to the third spot in the points table, having won two out of their three matches and lost one. They have accumulated a total of four points. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans have dropped to the fourth position with a similar win-loss record as KKR, but KKR holds the higher position due to a superior net run-rate.
