Commonwealth Games 2022 Opening Ceremony

The Commonwealth Games 2022 will begin in Birmingham, England from today. There are only a few counting hours left for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games-2022 to begin.

The opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games will be held today in which the flag bearer of the Indian contingent will be PV Sindhu. The event will begin with a grand opening ceremony at 11:30 pm IST. Indian athletes will try to give the best in this tournament. Today, the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth will be held, which will also be attended by a contingent of Indian players.
Manpreet Singh of the hockey team has been made the flag bearer along with two-time Olympic champion PV Sindhu. The team of 322 members also has 107 officers and support staff. Some Of the Indian players have already reached Birmingham while some will be reaching there directly after participating in global tournaments. From 1930 to 1950, these games were called the British Empire Games. From 1954 to 1966, it was called the British Empire and Commonwealth Games. In 1970 and 1974, it was renamed the British Commonwealth Games. In 1978, these games were named as Commonwealth Games. Since then, it has been known by that name.
